Race to Higher Education
Class of 2026
🎓 JAYDA LEE
This past weekend, we had the privilege of celebrating one of The Speed Team RVA’s outstanding members of the Class of 2026—Jayda Lee.
Jayda’s journey has been a testament to what happens when talent meets discipline, leadership, and unwavering commitment.
A graduate of John Marshall High School, Jayda will continue both her academic and athletic career at Longwood University, where she plans to major in Kinesiology while pursuing her dream of becoming a Physical Therapist.
Throughout high school, she earned a 3.5 GPA, graduated 17th in her class, and built an impressive academic résumé as a National Honor Society member, Richmond Technical Center Student Ambassador, Certified Personal Trainer, Scholar Roll and Honor Roll student, English Academic Excellence Award recipient, and the 2025–2026 DECA Chapter President.
Her dedication earned approximately 82% combined athletic and academic scholarship support.
On the track, Jayda excelled in the Triple Jump and Short Hurdles, and her outstanding season culminated in being named John Marshall High School Female Athlete of the Year.
When asked what The Speed Team RVA meant to her, she simply said,
“The Speed Team RVA is my family.”
Her advice to future Speed Team athletes was:
“Be coachable, work hard, and put your best foot forward every day.”
Coach Evans and the entire Speed Team coaching staff are incredibly proud of the young woman you’ve become. Watching your confidence, leadership, and resilience grow over the years has been one of the greatest rewards.
Congratulations, Jayda. We can’t wait to see everything you’ll accomplish at Longwood University.
